Since 1959, Battilossi has been synonymous with excellence in the world of rugs, an international benchmark that has transformed textile tradition into a continuous pursuit of innovation. 
From April 7 to 13, on the occasion of Milan Design Week 2025, the Italian company presents the exclusive exhibition We Dream in Color, a showcase that combines unique early 20th- century pieces with the brand’s contemporary creations. 

In an era where color symbolizes identity and creativity, this exhibition poses an intriguing question: Do we really dream in color? 

In nature, color does not exist as we perceive it—it is a human interpretation, processed by our brain based on frequency variations. The colors in dreams are never "real"; they are the result of sensations recreated by the mind. Every color we see is linked to the context and emotion we are experiencing in that precise moment. Our perception of color thus becomes a symbolic language, capable of conveying more than what meets the eye. 

Aligned with this edition’s Fuorisalone theme, Connected Worlds, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on how design, supported by traditional craftsmanship, plays a crucial role in connecting different eras. Modern reinterpretations merge contemporary patterns with ancestral knowledge. 

Within this connection between past and present, the rug becomes a bridge between connected worlds, evoking the beauty of a tradition in constant evolution. Ancient symbols and techniques are revived through modern reinterpretations, were contemporary design and craftsmanship blend seamlessly.
